Problem Statement
Small to Medium companies are very skeptical if Digital Technologies can drive value. Specifically, there are two issues: a. they say that the cost and effort of technology far outweigh the benefits they deliver and b. They are also unsure of where to start.
Project Goal
Design and build a simple but unique solution called the “Win the Hour (WTH) that enables SME’s to drive productivity improvements by managing their daily productivity performance on an hourly basis. Specifically, demonstrate improvement of 5-7% of productivity gains at CAAT and/or SME facilities.
Technical Approach
- “Win The Hour” app will include a new SM profile that will be built using microservices using CESMII’s Smart Manufacturing Innovation platform

Potential Impact
By rapidly demonstrating productivity gains in an SME setting, the project has the potential to spur large-scale adoption of digital transformation by SME’s to deliver public economic benefit (US competitiveness, jobs, SME growth, workforce development, training, etc.) through productivity improvement in the range of 5 – 7%.
