Smart Manufacturing Executive Council
The Smart Manufacturing Executive Council had its inaugural meeting this month with more than 35 industry experts and strategic advisors kicking off this important (and urgent) initiative to engage business and technology executives, thought leaders and visionaries to advocate for the transformation of the U.S. manufacturing ecosystem.
The amount of excitement, mindshare and collaboration that went on during the 2-hour meeting was a testament to the potential of this council as they work toward the development of practical guidance and policy recommendations that will help our ecosystem across the digital divide.
CESMII and SME look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months and encourage you to follow along.

GTC obtained a CESMII membership as an Academic Observer to grow their readiness for Industry 4.0. While they have curricular strengths in electronic and mechanical engineering technology, machine tool technology, mechatronics, and robotics, GTC hopes to grow our understand of new automated process control systems, big data analytics, interconnected systems, and manufacturing cyber systems. This membership will help their academic leadership and faculty prepare for the future.
