About the Event
The manufacturing silos are being demolished. They are replaced with an interconnected, interdependent, and digitally connected operation. Its success will rely in part in developing systems that provide not just functional processes but are designed to deliver actionable data to the operations and maintenance teams. And that must be designed in from the start.
Machine Design will look at the opportunities, challenges and strategies around the idea of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). We will talk to the nation’s leaders in developing these initiatives and talk to those manufacturers who already make DFMA profitable and productive.
CESMII Participation
Starting From Scratch with Smart Manufacturing, Conrad Leiva, Vice President, Ecosystem & Workforce
A recent Machine Design survey found that less than 25% of manufacturers currently are implementing a smart manufacturing strategy. Those who start today on the smart manufacturing journey will achieve a competitive advantage and will achieve cost, safety and productivity gains.
The big question remains: Where do I start? An expert from CESMII, the public/private national consortium dedicated to helping manufacturers take the digital transformation journey, will discuss the way to start small and gain incremental improvements while laying the groundwork for a deeper digital transformation.
