CESMII is about transformation made possible by collaboration. At our very essence is bringing together individuals, organizations and technologies to create one greater good. With membership, comes additional opportunities for collaboration an access our network of valuable resources.
The Future of the American Economy Depends on our Ability to Evolve U.S. Manufacturing
Discover how CESMII’s Smart Manufacturing Architecture (SM Architecture) revolutionizes industrial data integration, bridging the gap from edge to application. Through a converged architecture leveraging PLCNext’s control and information capabilities, we showcase automated discovery of profiled equipment instances directly from the PLC. Witness self-configuring applications seamlessly adapting to plant floor changes, ushering in a new era of efficiency and innovation in manufacturing. Join us at Automate in Chicago from May 6-9 to experience the future of industrial data propagation firsthand.
A Standards-Based Battery Passport Proof of Concept – in Partnership with CESMII, Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB, OPC Foundation and VDMA
The OPC Foundation, a global consortium tasked with the development and maintenance of industrial interoperability standards, also develops solutions to fulfill governmental regulations for interoperable systems. This work is carried out in close collaboration with several cooperation partners like CESMII, the VDMA, and the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB. The Battery Passport has been defined by EU regulators and lists more than 100 parameters to be presented and exchanged between systems. Built on the success of the existing Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) demonstrator, utilizing OPC UA for data modelling and information exchange, the OPC Foundation has now extended this demonstrator with the Battery Passport.
US-German Digital Product Passport Demonstration
Recently, there has been growing recognition of the critical importance of supply chain resilience and carbon/GHG tracking and reporting on a global scale. Addressing these global challenges necessitates robust solutions that enhance internationally coordinated efforts. The concept of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal, particularly for manufacturers in supply chains that sell products to consumers in Europe. By ensuring secure and well-managed industrial data interoperability across both inter- and intra-company manufacturing platforms, the DPP unlocks significant opportunities for enhancing end-to-end industry process optimization. Specifically, it contributes to sustainability, streamlines supply chain processes, and boosts overall productivity.
