We’re excited to share an important update that reflects the evolution of CESMII’s role in transforming manufacturing. As collaboration continues to drive innovation, we are updating the meaning of “CESMII” to:
Collaborative Ecosystems for Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute
(Previously: Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute)
This change aligns with a growing movement within our network—the power of collaborative supply chains. manufacturers, solution providers, and stakeholders across industries increasingly recognize that digital transformation and smart manufacturing success depend on open, connected ecosystems rather than isolated efforts.
This update is more than a name change; it reinforces our commitment to fostering collaboration, democratizing smart manufacturing, and driving industry-wide transformation.
There will be no changes to CESMII’s logo, branding, or other visual elements at this time. Similarly, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) remains the program and administrative home of CESMII.. Externally, we will continue using our recognized nickname:
CESMII – The Smart Manufacturing Institute
However, we ask that you update any internal records and materials to reflect this change moving forward. Again…
Collaborative Ecosystems for Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute
(Previously: Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute)
Thank you for your support as we take this important step in CESMII’s journey.
