Introducing: Smart Manufacturing Mindset™
|
|
Last week CESMII & SME kicked off a new monthly LinkedIn Live series, Smart Manufacturing Mindset™, where series host, Mike Yost, challenges guests to think differently about manufacturing. In the series, we’ll explore the nuances that hide in plain sight – behind the acronyms, techno-jargon and misinformation – to get to the truths that hold real value for real people in the industry. Having a ‘Smart Manufacturing Mindset’ is the next evolution of the Quality and the Lean, Continuous Improvement mindset, aligning these vital disciplines to accelerate value creation.
Check out the kickoff episode:
Think Differently | Leadership’s Role in Smart Manufacturing
and be sure to follow the series which airs the last Tuesday of the month.

Mata Inventive LLC is a manufacturing analytics powerhouse that uses AI-generated actionable insights to solve manufacturing profitability issues before they happen. Many manufacturing facilities use cutting edge equipment, but still rely on experience and manual non-quantitative methods when it comes to finding shop floor bottlenecks. Only 5% of the manufacturers that Mata has surveyed have digitized their shop floor. The other 95% mostly stopped at having Enterprise Resource System (ERP) software, and it’s mainly just for bookkeeping purposes instead of analytics. What Mata’s AI is capable of is turning the data that already exists on the shop floor into its future performance with 80%+ of accuracy. The AI can then inform management of possible delay reasons in addition to how they affect job profitability.
