Smart Manufacturing Mindset™:
Becoming a Smart Manufacturing
Roadmap Professional
|
|
In this digital transformation era, the manufacturing landscape is rapidly evolving, offering unprecedented opportunities for growth and innovation. However, many manufacturers are grappling with the challenge of where to begin their journey toward Smart Manufacturing, how to prioritize investments, and how to build a solid foundation for success.
Fortunately, CESMII, the Smart Manufacturing Institute, has teamed up with the team at Rensselaer at Work & NxGen Group to develop the SM Roadmap Professional Certification Course – a course that teaches CESMII’s strategic approach to developing SM Roadmaps with the necessary tools to guide manufacturers through their transformation journey.
The event features recent graduates of the Smart Manufacturing Roadmap Professional Course. They shared their experiences, insights, and the value of certification in these tools and resources to guide small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) toward success.

How Manufacturing USA Institutes Innovate & Reduce IP Risks with Pre-Competitive Collaboration
When Manufacturing USA Institutes serve as a trusted third party for pre-competitive collaboration among private sector companies, they create neutral conditions for technological innovation. Manufacturers gain access to expertise and state-of-the-art facilities with testing and prototyping equipment and exposure to potential new partners. Read our latest story to learn how institutes such as RAPID, CESMII, NextFlex, and NIIMBL are bringing together industry, academia, and the government to reshape manufacturing R&D while reducing IP risks.

Set the Right Mindset for Smart Manufacturing
Article courtesy of Smart Manufacturing Magazine, April 2024 edition published by SME.
The adoption of new technology plays an important role in the ongoing, competitive global manufacturing race. Many leading manufacturers are planning to compete as highly integrated ecosystems with highly connected digital supplier networks, and this race is fueling the drive to implement smart manufacturing (SM) technologies.
CESMII, the Smart Manufacturing Institute, is one of the national Manufacturing USA institutes helping manufacturers accelerate their efforts. Through our work with manufacturers, we have found that cultivating the right mindset and culture in the organization is a key factor to successful implementation and sustainment of smart manufacturing initiatives—a mindset that promotes the right set of attitudes and behaviors in the organization.
