NEW CLASS OF ‘INNOVATION PROJECTS’ DRIVE VALUE FOR MANUFACTURER MEMBERS

In August, CESMII announced five (5) Innovation Project proposals (submitted in response to the RFP2 – Wave 4 open solicitation) have been selected for negotiations. Innovation Projects pair manufacturers with Systems Integrators, software vendors and academic partners to solve specific manufacturing challenges, bringing value to Operations leaders in manufacturing while leveraging CESMII technologies to develop information models and SM applications.
This is the first round of Innovation Projects released by CESMII with subsequent rounds expected in the near future. The teams selected for negotiation in this first round are listed here.
Roadmap Projects deliver significant value for the entire CESMII ecosystem and are a constant focal point for our institute. See the status for all projects:

CESMII TACKLES ‘FRAGILITY OF U.S. MANUFACTURING’ ON MULTIPLE FRONTS
Spurred by COVID-19, CESMII CEO, John Dyck, has been actively collaborating to build a more resilient US manufacturing base to underpin the national response and recovery. He’s been engaging with leading manufacturers in critical food, medical and consumer goods supply chains, along with leading technology providers and national political leaders.

CESMII LEADERS CONTRIBUTE TO NEWLY RELEASED SMART MANUFACTURING BOOK
|
CESMII leaders Jim Davis, Haresh Malkani, John Dyck, Prakashan Korambath and Jonathan Wise authored a chapter on Cyberinfrastructure for the democratization of Smart Manufacturing in the new book, Smart Manufacturing Applications and Case Studies. Written by thought leaders in the field from around the world, it is essential reading for graduate students, researchers, process engineers and managers. It is complemented by a companion book titled Smart Manufacturing: Concepts and Methods, which describes smart manufacturing methods in detail.
