Germany Industry 4.0 (Plattorm Industrie 4.0) and CESMII Collaborate to Shape the Future of Manufacturing
April 14th, Hannover Fair – Germany and the United States are among the top five manufacturing countries in the world. The two countries’ manufacturers share an interconnected network of facilities and suppliers, including many small and medium-sized enterprises. Plattform Industrie 4.0 (Germany) and CESMII (US) are announcing their partnership to address similar challenges and needs related to Industrie 4.0 / Smart Manufacturing.
For both manufacturing economies to compete, they need international collaboration to achieve major tasks like semantic interoperability, create data sharing platforms, develop workforce skills, and foster sustainable production.

The Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation Policy Act
|
U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Chris Coons (D-DE), and Rob Portman (R-OH) and Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) introduced the Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation Policy Act to create a new Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation Policy (OMII). This new office will help strengthen America’s manufacturing industry and workforce and improve global competitiveness following the coronavirus pandemic.

CESMII is Expanding its SMIC Network
|
This Request for Proposals (“RFP3 – SMIC”) is for new SMIC partners for CESMII.
CESMII intends to award up to $2M total ($1M Federal + $1M Awardee Cost Share), subject to funding availability.
For each individual award, CESMII anticipates a period of performance of up to 16 months.
