The Intersection of Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing: Learn More
Location: Smart Factory Hub, 1:25 PM – 2:10 PM
There are many ways to improve sustainability in manufacturing from changing light bulbs to using better sources of energy. However, a stronger recipe for Sustainable Manufacturing is to combine these efforts with Smart Manufacturing and Digital Lean techniques to not only help the business achieve strategic outcomes, but also improve efficiency and reduce waste of resources.
In this session we discuss how the future of manufacturing requires combining the efforts of Lean, Sustainable, and Smart Manufacturing to go beyond the manual reporting solutions and leverage techniques like IIoT sensors and Smart Manufacturing platforms to automate data collection and provide all the information insights needed to run operations efficiently.
A sustainable factory creates goods in an ecologically friendly and resource-efficient manner. Advanced process control and optimization is what truly makes a system “smart” by going beyond the reporting dashboards and establishing proactive practices that use artificial intelligence (AI) to automate routine decisions and trigger action on alarming trends or non-routine situations. We will share examples of how manufacturers are using AI algorithms to optimize processes and save energy in multiple industries.
